STOKE by Nayland Golf Club hosted their bi-annual Ladies Invitation to the Gentlemen golf match.

It was the club's Ladies turn to host the event and captain Anne Hemmings asked the golfers to play American Greensomes.

The men played off the same forward tee using the ladies card which proved to be an enjoyable format, around the 18-hole Gainsborough course.

Lesley and Peter Garnett won with 44 points, finishing a point ahead of Barbara Rowe and Gary Borthwick.

They finished second on countback ahead of third-placed Jackie Frost and David Nixon.

Teresa and David Close secured the best front nine with 25 points, while the best back nine was achieved by Barbara Jones and Norman Davidson (22 points).

Jackie Frost claimed the ladies' nearest the pin prize and men's nearest the pin winner was Gary Borthwick.

Stoke by Nayland Ladies played a Medal Competition on the Gainsborough course.

Anne Hemmings won with a score of 74 nett, ahead of runner-up Sue Lathem (75 nett) and Amanda Hall who was third with 76 nett.

The Annual Captain’s Prize Stableford took place on the Gainsborough course.

Despite bunkers being still half full of water, the ladies enjoyed their round of golf.

Hilary Cairns won the competition with 34 points, just ahead of runner-up Angela Cudmore (33 points) and Many Byham (32 points) who was third on countback.
