FELSTED School’s under-15 girls’ cricket team are through to the national final of the Lady Taverners Indoor Cricket Cup after winning all five of their games in the regional round.

The girls beat Dr Calloners, Hayes, Godolphin and Latymer and Warden Park Schools, before securing their victory against Godolphin and Latymer again in a tense final game.

The team will now return to Lord’s for a second year in a row to play at the national finals, where they hope to improve on last year’s third place.

Felsted girls’ cricket coach and Super League player, Carla Rudd, said; “Every girl contributed throughout the day; the team spirit and skill level was top quality and their win was well deserved.”

Ten Felsted girls are currently on the Essex Players Programme, with opportunities to play in county matches.

This includes year 12 student Alex Went, who has recently been selected for the Essex Women’s first-team squad.
