BRAINTREE Boxing Club had another successful night at the recent Billericay and Wickford ABC Boxing Show, with prospect Joe Bryant emerging victorious after a pulsating contest against home fighter Patrick Hylton.

In the most anticipated bout of the evening, both boxers arrived full of confidence, having previously stopped several other opponents and were determined to maintain their undefeated records.

The first round started at a frenetic pace, with Bryant throwing caution to the wind and attempting to assert his dominance quickly.

This proved to be a big mistake as Hylton landed a thunderous right hand in the first ten seconds that floored the Braintree stalwart heavily.

With the roaring home crowd on their feet and already applauding victory, Bryant stunned everyone, by rising to his feet and beating the ten count.

The action continued with the aggressive Billericay boxer charging across the ring in an effort to finish the dazed Braintree man, but was met with fierce resistance as Bryant, known for his tenacity and power, immediately fired back with his own power punches and hurt the strong Hylton with body shots and a right hands of his own.

The round ended with Bryant pinning Hylton against the ropes and unloading blows to his mid-section.

The second round began with both boxers having initial success, trading hurtful punches as they fought valiantly to establish control.

After being caught with a hard right hand and left hook, Bryant countered Hylton with solid back hands and hooks to his body.

Sensing that Hylton was tiring, Bryant stepped on the gas and began to apply even more pressure, landing some short punches on the inside and finishing the round stronger.

Knowing that the fight was close, Bryant started the third round with renewed vigour and pressured Hylton from the outset, landing effective punches to both his body and head.

The proud Billericay man, as with all boxers from that renowned gym, bravely fired back and caught Bryant with a good hook to his head.

However, Bryant would not be denied and refused to concede his advantage, pushing Hylton backwards and forcing the action until the final bell.

In a great show of respect, the two boxers embraced at the end of a fantastic bout, with the crowd applauding loudly as they awaited the result.

In a tough, competitive contest, Bryant was awarded a fine and well-deserved points verdict, in a bout that will be long remembered.

It was great result for all of his hard work and continued dedication.
