THE Braintree and Bocking Angling Society club trip to Clare to fish the Cable Pond resulted in some good catches as usual with a variety of species landed.

The top weights have to include carp as the clear water limits the silver fish nets and the winner Mark Banks landed five to boost his roach and bream bag to a final total of 64-6-0.

Sections (excluding winner): 1 A Luetchford 52-0-0, 2 J Loosely 22-0-0.

The Friday Sweep at Notley resulted in another win for Chris Orrin, who had one carp to thank for half of his winning weight of 14-13-0.

Second with a net of F1s was Kevin Howell, who used the feeder to catch his fish, which gave a total weight of 12-4-8.

The Braintree and Bocking AS team were victorious in the recent Essex Interclub League match on the River Chelmer, with a 50-point total.

The Maldon Team recorded 32 in second.

Braintere team captain Danny Mason won his section and was second overall with 10-15-0 and Dean Field also won his section.

The result moves the team to top of the league with 27 points, from Maldon on 25.
