THE club lake at Notley was the venue for both of the Braintree club matches over the weekend and although the temperatures have dropped some good weights were recorded.
The Friday match saw Mark Orrin land five carp and F1s on popped up bread or the pole with maggot to record a winning weight of 21-4-0.
John Daniels had five F1s and one carp on the feeder for 10-10-0 and second.
The Sunday match resulted in higher weights than Friday and Pete Thompson had five carp and seven F1s, together with a few silvers to win the match with 38-9-0, taken on the pole.
Jim Loosley had one carp, with F1s for 21-6-0 and second place.
On Sunday the Cancer Research Open is on the Fennes Ash Grounds and Hill and Black lakes with the draw at 8am and fishing from 10am to 4pm.
The following weekend, the Friday match on October 7 and the Sunday match on October 9 - both at Notley - have been cancelled due to anticipated low attendance and a clash with the Essex Interclub League match.
