AFTER a six-week summer break the British Formula One Sidecar Championship resumed at Donington Park in Leicestershire and Braintree’s Cable Racing Team of driver Kevin Cable and Witham-based passenger Guy Pawsey were hoping to continue their good form.

A two-part qualifying saw the Essex duo place themselves 12th on the grid for the first race when a solid performance gave them an 11th place finish.

The next morning's second race saw them finish in 12th place, before they concluded their weekend with a tenth-place finish to position them 30th in the championship.

Cable said: “It was a really good weekend.

"We’ve been getting faster in the qualifying and with the changes to the cabling over the weekend the controls felt lighter so I needed to get used to that. "We are definitely going in the right direction.”

Pawsey added: “Three good finishes and good points I’m really pleased for us with the amount of effort that we are putting in.”

The next round is in the Netherlands at the Assen circuit.
