THE trio of Witham Dolphins swimmers who qualified for the East Regional Long Course Championships all performed strongly, with Aoife Marley booking her place at the ASA National Championships.

Following excellent swims at the Essex Championships earlier this year, Marley, Josh Fowles and Maia McPherson all qualified for the regional championships in Norwich and Luton.

Fowles was competing in the men’s 100 metre freestyle event and had an excellent swim despite tough competition.

Having qualified for regionals for the first time, McPherson was also in great form with fantastic swims and personal best times in her 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke events.

Marley was also competing in the girls' breaststroke events and was in majestic form.

In her first event of the weekend, the 200m breaststroke, she made the final qualifying in third place with a PB.

Taking her great form into the final, she improved her time yet again to come home with the bronze medal.

Her time and ranking position also meant that Marley qualified for the ASA National Championships which will be held later in the summer at the Ponds Forge pool in Sheffield.

Marley also had good swims in the 100m breaststroke and made the final of the 50m breaststroke with another PB.
