GRANGE Farm and Dunmow Runners (GFDR) were victorious at the Cricket Trail.

Alistair Brown and Charlotte King finished first man and first woman.

The nine-mile race started and finished at The Black Lion pub, in High Roding.

The route took the 68 runners, representing 11 clubs, along paths leading to the cricket pitches at Aythorpe Roding and Leaden Roding.

Brown finished in one hour eight minutes and 17 seconds and King in 1h 29m 6s.

The second male and female places went to Springfield Striders’ James Smith (1h 10m 47s) and Sarah Colbert (1h 29m 38s).

The event was a club championship race for GFDR.

For the club, Steve Read was second in 1h 10m 56s, followed by Chris Hayhow (1h 19m 17s), Jason Wintin (1h 25m 3s), Gerard Geurts (1h 27m) and James Bosher (1h 27m 31s).

Martin Jackson finished in 1h 29m 59s, ahead of Sean Henderson (1h 30m 28s), Martin Atkinson (1h 33m 10s) and second GFDR female Pru Hayhow (1h 37m 11s).

Jules Adams (1h 43m 42s) was closely followed by John Smith (1h 43m 53s), Gillian Robertson (1h 44m 1s), Hayley Smith (1h 44m 3s), Kerry Harrington (1h 44m 55s), Jo Bisset-Smith (1h 45m 33s), Lee Prowse (1h 46m 37s) and Colin Jackson (1h 47m 8s).

Just two minutes separated Sue Greenhill (2h 1m 1s), Gavin Foster (2h 1m 2s), Kath Birks (2h 2m 47s) and Jackie Adams (2h 2m 52s).

GFDR will be holding a 10km road race at Felsted on July 10.
