Owen Garvan will miss Colchester United's trip to play Millwall on Saturday after seeing a specialist over his ankle injury.

The former Ipswich Town midfielder has not featured for the U's since their 2-0 defeat at Doncaster Rovers, at the end of last month.

Colchester boss Tony Humes said: “We’re trying to get to the bottom of it.

“It’s frustrating for him because he feels fine, until he tries certain movements.

“Obviously the pace of the game determines a lot of movement and changes of direction and that’s when he has an issue.

“We’re just trying to get to the bottom of it.

“He’s seeing specialists to ascertain what the problem is.

“He’s ok running in straight lines - it’s just when he turns.

“There’s obviously something in there.”
