Onley Arms duo Trevor Blows and David Bird reached the semi-finals of the National Over-50 Petanque Championships at Harrow.
It was only the third time that the Stisted pairing had played together, but they lost just once to a strong London duo in the morning session.
Blows and Bird’s best performance was a 13-2 win over the Kent champions and in the knockout round, they beat the East Midlands champions 13-5 to make the semi-final.
They were drawn against London, though, who again put in a good performance and denied the Onley team a place in the final.
