Braintree and District Motor Cycle Club hosted almost 70 riders from across East Anglia at the annual Eastern Experts Motorcycle Trial at Sible Hedingham.
All eyes were on the Experts as they tackled some fearsome looking climbs and obstacles and Braintree member James Yearley was the only local rider in the top class.
He found the conditions very difficult around the steep banks and hills of the woodland venue and eventually finished ninth on 180 marks lost.
Stowmarket’s Julian Harvey, who is a multiple former winner of the Eastern Centre Championship, was again in fine form.
Sections eight and nine proved decisive as Harvey proved to be in a league of his own.
There were Braintree successeses outside the top-flight.
Wes Butcher and Graham Palmer filled the podium in the Expert B category and veterans Allen Collier and Roy Palmer finished first and second in class for the bikes produced pre-1970.
