Playgolf’s ladies staged their sixth annual mini-Solheim Cup competition, where the lady captain’s team took on her vice captain’s team.

The matchplay format consisted of a trio of singles matches, two foursomes and a fourball better-ball group.

Vice-captain Gina Macmillan took control of the first singles match by beating lady captain, Linda Smith.

And in the next singles, Lucy Sadler extended the vice-captain’s lead after beating Liz Schultz.

But singles and foursomes wins from Judith Peeling, Ann Longman and the pairing of Joka Fayers and Linda Marshall helped turn things around in the captain’s favour.

However, in the final match, Janet Blackmore and Pauline Coxon beat Linda Dundon and Maureen Dale 3&2 to ensure the match was tied at 3-3.

The vice-captain’s team has won Playgolf’s Solheim Cup three times to the captain’s one, with two matches drawn.
