Good weights were recorded as Braintree and Bocking Angling Society held their Society Cup on Hobbs Croft at the Fennes.

However, it was Mark Banks who topped the lot with silvers and one carp giving him a winning total weight of 39-0-0.

The Friday Sweeps at Notley are producing some close weights and a good variety of species.

Meanwhile, the Bills Tackle teams put the disappointment of their exit from the Supercup competition behind them by taking the top two places in the second round of the Essex Summer League on the River Cam.

The White Team came first with 30 points, from the Black Team on 27 and Browning Wickford Blue, who had 22.

Colchester APS (CAPS) hosted the second round of the Essex Interclub League on their lake at Pebmarsh, where the bream provided the top weights.

The Maldon Team came first on the day with 51½ points, from Harwich on 50 and CAPS A 46.

CAPS A team man Paul Connell had the top individual weight of 78-15-0.

Paul Chambers (Harwich) was second with 47-11-0 and John Downham (CAPS B) had 26-3-0 in third.
