MALDON Cricket Club will play play host to the annual Kwik Cricket Festival at Drapers Farm.

The event to be held on Friday, July 3, comprises of 28 separate primary schools from the Maldon District and surrounding areas.

Each school will field a team of six pupils against the other three teams in their individual group.

The Kwik Cricket Festival is a long-running cricketing institution in the Maldon area and is always highly anticipated by schools, students, and the cricket club alike.

As always, the event will feature the famed Maldon Cricket Club BBQ team ready to ensure that nobody goes home on an empty stomach.

There will also feature a Rossi’s ice cream van for those with a sweeter tooth.

Maldon’s Member of Parliament John Whittingdale OBE is also due to make his annual appearance at the festival.

The festival starts at 6pm with gates opening an hour before and supporter entrance costing £2 on the purchase of a programme.

The event is always very popular and the club look forward to welcoming everyone.
