GREAT Clacton and Blacksmith Arms have booked their places in the Clacton and District Sunday League’s Dennis Bloomfield Cup final.
Both enjoyed convincing wins in their semi-finals.
Great Clacton beat Pathfields 6-2, while the Blackies defeated Coastal Rangers 4-0.
Pathfields took the lead through Dan Meskall.
However, Great Clacton got themselves back in the game when Micky Southee shrugged off a defender and lobbed the onrushing keeper.
Their second goal came when a high ball into the box allowed John de Loup to outjump the keeper and head home.
Great Clacton’s third came right on half-time, from a penalty, following a push in the back from a Pathfields player.
Nick Rawlinson smashed home from the spot.
Two minutes into the second half, Great Clacton managed a fourth when a corner was whipped in and headed home by Kelvin Wakefield.
Pathfields’ Meskall pulled one back from a breakaway goal.
His side then piled on the pressure, but Great Clacton sealed the game when a free-kick was flicked on and fell to Wakefield, who smashed home.
de Loup then ran through on goal and slotted past the onrushing keeper Blacksmith’s goal-scorers were Henry Spiers, C Stephens, S Thompson and B Westley.
