The Braintree Open Darts League’s Knockout Pairs competitions were held at Bocking and saw 33 men’s and five ladies’ teams playing to see who would face each other on finals night.
The first semi-final in the ladies’ competition saw Wethersfield B up against the Queen’s Head and with a 2-0 win for Kelly Willis and Ruth Butler, the Queen’s Head had booked their place in the final.
Bocking’s Kerry Joyce and Marianne Tucker were up against the Football Club’s Lynn Kelly and Nicky Mynard in the next ladies semi and a 2-0 win for the Football Club duo had their final spot assured.
In the men’s, Cressing’s Rhys and Sam Hayden were against the Swan’s Mick Cain and Leon Griffiths and with a 3-0 win, Cressing had their final place booked.
The Retreat’s John Abbott and Steve Prow faced Legends’ Chris Holden and Stewart Wicks and with wins in the first three games, the Retreat pairing set up a final against the Haydens.
