Witham Town went down to their second Ryman League premier division defeat by Hendon in the space of four days as they lost 2-1 at the Village Glass Stadium.
Having lost 2-0 at Hendon on Saturday, the return fixture came quickly, but unfortunately for Town, the end result was the same.
Garry Kimble's team were placed on the back foot early on when an own goal by Conor Mead gave the visitors the lead with just two minutes on the clock.
Witham responded well to the early setback, though, and a strike from Danny Emmanuel in the 31st minute made sure it was level at the break.
However, Hendon got a second goal in the 75th minute when Aaron Morgan found the target and that proved to be the decisive goal.
It was blow for Witham's survival hopes but they did stay outside the relegation zone as AFC Hornchurch, who Witham entertain on Saturday, also lost.
The Urchins were beaten 3-1 by Leatherhead.
