No game for Witham as waterlogged pitch sinks hopes of post-Christmas action
Witham Town's scheduled post-Christmas game against Canvey Island today has fallen foul of the weather and is off.
The Ryman League premier division fixture has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at the Village Glass Stadium.
Heavy overnight rain that fell across Essex left the playing surface too wet for the game to go ahead and it will be rearranged for a date in the New Year.
