Braintree Town full-back Ryan Peters is hopeful that he will be fit to face Dartford in the Iron’s Vanarama Conference Premier Boxing Day game.

Peters came off late in the Iron’s 2-0 win against Torquay United with a dead leg, but told the Times that he is confident that he will be back.

And that view was backed up by manager Alan Devonshire, who said: “Ryan came off with a dead leg, but I hope he’ll be fine.

“He’s a tough boy.

“It would also be nice to get a few of the boys who were out last weekend back for next week then I can change it if I need to from Friday into Sunday.

“Some boys will have to play both games, but some won’t be able to cope with it and I’ll have to handle that.

“I’m glad that Jordan (Cox) and Dan (Walker) will be back for next week and hopefully Kenny (Davis) will as well to make my job that much easier.

“If they aren’t back for the Dartford game then I think they should definitely be back for the Eastleigh one.”
