Craig Eastmond has set his sights on hitting the net more often - and enhancing his status as Colchester United’s lucky charm.
The U’s have never lost when Eastmond has scored for them, with the midfielder continuing that trend after bagging their vital winner at Yeovil Town.
Eastmond grabbed his first goal of the season for Colchester in their important 1-0 triumph over the Glovers at Huish Park, last Saturday.
The 24-year-old midfielder has netted seven times for the U’s since first arriving from Arsenal in September 2012, initially on loan.
Colchester have won five of the six matches in which Eastmond has scored for them - and now he wants to hit the net more regularly.
Eastmond said: “You always set targets to get goals and a midfielder should do that, as well as get forward and get back.
“It was a good little goal (against Yeovil) and hopefully I can now push on and get a few more.
“Every goal is crucial for me, especially when it turns out to be a winner.
“When I get in those kind of positions, I need to take my chances.
“Hopefully that’s an area in my game I can improve.”
