Braintree Town will have it all to do again after being held to a draw in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

They were held to a goal-less draw by Weymouth at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Weymouth went close early on when a header from a free-kick at the far post went wide.

Weymouth were awarded a free-kick on 22 minutes but the effort was cleared from the Iron area and the follow up shot was wide.

The Iron’s Jordan Cox then nearly caught the home side napping when he closed down keeper Jason Matthews’ clearance.

Braintree went close to opening the scoring when Dan Walker broke into the box, his shot beat the keeper but went wide.

Just before the half-hour mark Weymounth’s Chris Shephard found Adam Kelly who cut the ball back and Stewart Yetton forced a good fingertip save by Nick Hamann.

There were then chances at either end as Simeon Akinola went close for the visitors and Yetton flashed the ball across goal with George Rigg unable to get a touch.

But Braintree, ramped up the pressure immediately after half-time.

Akinola went close when he was one-on-one with the keeper but his shot was saved.

Then Akinola had another chance when he only had the keeper the beat but his shot went over the bar.

Weymouth fashioned a chance on 75 minutes, following good build-up play Kelly was through but fired his shot into the side netting.

Weymouth then won a free-kick in a good position but Hamann pulled off a good save.

But Braintree then had a great chance to win the match when James Mulley delivered a great cross into the box but an unmarked Jordan Cox put his header wide on 87 minutes.
