Jim Bentley burrowed his way to victory in Colchester Golf Club’s Rabbits’ Cup.
The 24-handicapper finished three shots clear of the group of four players behind him after returning a card with a nett of 71.
Andrew Jones (23) finished as runner-up on countback ahead of John Cross (26), Paul Lock (24) and John Fisk (22) after all four finished on nett 74.
Colchester also hosted the Intermediate Cup, for players with a 13 to 19 handicap. Andrew Archer (15) was victorious by a clear margin, after returning 67 nett.
David Drake (16) was the closest to Archer with a 69, finishing four shots clear of a quartet of players who all returned 72s.
Robin Tucker (19) claimed third after the countback with his 72 followed by Lewis Chambers (15), Peter Robinson (15) and Terry Barfield (17).
