Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire may have to pull some strings in the loan market as he looks to bolster his battered Braintree Town squad.

Despite admitting to being at the limit of his playing budget, the Iron boss (pictured) said he may have five players out who could all be first-team starters for tomorrow’s Vanarama Conference Premier visit of Kidderminster Harriers.

And with a trip to Aldershot following on Tuesday, Devonshire’s resources are stretched and he may have to bring in a loanee to swell the players that he has available.

The latest blows came in a 2-1 defeat at Welling United on Tuesday when striker Jordan Cox took an early blow to his knee and had to come off at half-time and defender Remy Clerima is set for several weeks out after suffering a hamstring problem in the first half.

Devonshire said: “Jordan took a whack in the first minute and played on but it stiffened up at half-time and we took him off and Remy felt his hamstring go so he’ll be out for a while now.

“With the other injuries we’ve got, that’s at least five out who could all start and I don’t think any of them will be coming back before the weekend.

“So we’ve spoken about bringing someone in on loan, but I’m not sure if we’ll be able to get anything sorted before Saturday’s game.”
