Braintree Cricket Club know three wins from their final three games of the season should see them earn promotion to the top flight of the Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship.

They extended their run of division two wins to five with a six-wicket victory against Ipswich to move them up to third and make the maths simple for them in the race for division one status.

Braintree head to Easton on Saturday, before a trip to Kelvedon and Feering the following week and a final-day home encounter against the current second-placed side, Halstead, and three wins should be enough to send them up.

Vice-captain Will Jackson said: “We are very confident at the moment, but we have some tough games coming up.

“However, we know it’s in our own hands."
