Woodford to take temporary charge of Halstead

Reserve team boss Leon Woodford will take charge of Halstead Town for their pre-season home friendly against Witham Town tomorrow, after Jody Brown stepped down as boss.

Brown has suffered with health problems over recent weeks, which have prevented him from working with the club’s players over pre-season.

He still hopes to continue to run Halstead Town’s successful Academy as much as possible, over the coming weeks.

But he has temporarily relinquished his position as first team boss at Rosemary Lane.

Chairman Jim Holder said: “Jody is indisposed at this moment in time.

“We’re only looking at the thing short-term at the moment until we know more about the situation."
