A fixture backlog will not derail Halstead Town’s push for honours, according to chairman Jim Holder.
Town, unbeaten in nine, still have exactly half of their Ridgeons League programme to go, along with a number of important cup fixtures.
A spate of postponements over the last two months have meant that Halstead’s season has been severely disrupted.
They have not played at Rosemary Lane since the end of last year and have games in hand over each of the five clubs above them in division one.
However, Town chairman Holder believes the club can still ensure that this is a memorable season.
Holder said: “We have been doing well. I’m delighted with the way things have gone so far this season.
“The goal is to extend our interest until the end of the season.
“Because of the games being called off, we haven’t been able to build as much momentum as we’d like.
“But we have some big games coming up and it’s what we play for.
“We spend our life working towards it and we’ll never complain about that.
“We want to keep improving and it’s a good period for us coming up.”
Halstead travel to play 14th-placed Godmanchester Rovers tomorrow, in division one.
They host Thetford Town on Tuesday night at Rosemary Lane, in a rearranged fixture.
