Jody Brown is eyeing his most successful season yet as Halstead Town manager.
It’s been a testing campaign for his side, losing a succession of players to injury and different clubs.
But the young, new-look team are up to sixth in Ridgeons League division one, through to the East Anglian Cup final and now into the semi-finals of the First Division Knockout Cup.
And if they are successful on at least one of those fronts, Brown admits it will be his most satisfying season in the Rosemary Lane hot-seat.
Asked if it would be his best achievement to date, he told the Gazette: “Without a doubt.
“If we were to get promotion or win a cup it would be a huge achievement.
“No-one outside my head will ever know how much has gone into this season and it’s not easy when you lose 16 or 17 players.
“But we’ve steadily gone about our business and it’s really satisfying to work with these young players, because they’re so hungry, ambitious and playing for the right reasons."
Halstead entertain Thetford Town tomorrow.
