Halstead Road Runners pair Alan Clack and Neil Murfitt competed at the popular Folksworth 15-mile race.

Clack achieved a time of one hour 55 minutes 28 seconds and finished in 151st place.

Murfitt was 257th in 2h 7m 12s.

The cold, dry and still weather made for almost ideal running conditions.

The event is fast becoming a regular training event for those planning on taking part in the London Marathon.

The 500-runner limit was reached well before Christmas, with two Halstead Road Runners obtaining places.

The two-lap course boasted three hills each time, which looked fairly mighty in a fenland setting but were not terribly significant by Halstead RR standards.

Elsewhere in the region, Halstead competed in the Ipswich cross country event on Martlesham Heath, sponsored by 53-12.
