Colne Valley Golf Club has been awarded the GolfMark achiever award.

The accolade follows a three-year assessment by the English Golf Union and the English Women’s Golf Association.

After becoming the first Essex golf club to achieve the GolfMark award in 2006, the Valley has now gained the High Achiever status through its work with Junior Golf.

To gain the prestigious accreditation, the club needed to demonstrate excellence in junior coaching and playing, club environment (including sports equity and ethics), along with child protection and duty of care.

Colne Valley head professional Jamie Lowe and club proprietor Tom Smith received the award from Helen Tarttelin, of England Golf.
