New challenge for Halstead duo

Halstead Road Runners Wayne Kern and Keith Thorogood completed the Bishop’s Stortford 10k over a new course.

In hot and humid conditions, Kern clocked a time of 43 minutes, while Thorogood completed the course in 55m 10s.

The previous week, Thorogood completed the Bury Friday five-mile race, stopping the clock at 42m 40s.

Three of Halstead’s multi-sport athletes entered the Saffron Walden Triathlon.

The course consisited of a 750 metres swim, 25 kilometre cycle and a 5km run.

Results: Paul Frindle 1h 31m 50s; Sam Wolton 1h 33m 25s; John Markham 1h 38m 38s.

Andy Wilmot and Bob Parmenter walked the the Hertfordshire Hobble off-road Marathon at Wheathampstead.

The two Halstead RR members together in 6h 6m 24s.
