Halstead head into their home clash with Saffron Walden tomorrow rooted to the bottom of the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League.
They lost their crucial basement battle with Godmanchester Town by 159 runs last weekend, to leave them deep in trouble at the foot of the table.
Skipper Matt Spatcher claimed figures of three for 28 from 18 overs and Simon Steel produced some fine fielding to hold on to four sharp catches.
But Halstead’s batting let them down again as they were dismissed for just 103.
The following day Chris Barton hit an impressive 127 for Halstead’s Sunday side against St Osyth.
But Halstead were still beaten in the PDQ Cars North Essex League.
