Gosfield Lake’s junior golf team have set up a winner-takes-all encounter with Colchester GC, in the County Youth Shield.
Gosfield Lake won their fourth match in the competition, at Stoke by Nayland GC.
That means their forthcoming match with Colchester GC will decide which team will progress to the quarter-finals.
In a tense affair, the score stood at two matches each when the final game finished all square, after 18 holes.
The rules dictate that games are played to a finish.
Gosfield Lake’s vice-captain Jasmine Johnson holed a winning birdie putt at the second extra hole to give Gosfield a narrow 3-2 victory.
l Towerlands Park Ladies’ Monthly Medal was won by Joyce Thorndyke with a nett score of 71.
