THE lake six-hour match record was smashed at Notley as current holder Bob Reed landed ten carp, together with a few silvers to record a final weight of 58-0-0 in the Braintree Club Sweep.
All of Reed's fish came from the margins on a variety of baits from what is now lucky peg 13.
On the next peg, John Daniels fished meat at ten metres to land four carp and F1s for a second-placed 27-5-0.
Four late carp saw Alan Bill Townley jump into third spot with 19-7-0.
The Friday Sweep was also won from peg 13, but not from the margins, as the winner, John Daniels, had some fish on the tip and the rest just beyond the lilies to weigh a 30-4-0 total.
Sections (excluding winner): 1 J Loosley 12-8-0, 2 B Reed 18-10-0.
On Sunday, the club are again on the ex-Cariers lake at Notley.
Names should be given to Pete Thompson as some of the swims need to be raked to clear the weed and organisers need to know the numbers.
