THE Braintree Open Darts League's Summer Singles KO competition at Bocking Club saw 39 men's and 14 ladies' teams completing for their chance to play at finals night on August 17.

After some very high scoring from all involved in both competitions, the men's semi-finals came down to Cressing A's Rhys Hayden playing the Swiss Bell's Chris Cook and Cressing B's Robbie Turner up against the Eagle A's Stuart Wickes. The ladies' semis saw Cressing A's Josie Patterson up against Cressing B's Tracey Newman and in the second, Cressing A's Tracie Hayden played Braintree Football Club's Dawn Kennedy.

Although playing some excellent darts in the first best of five game men's semi-final, the Swiss Bell's Chris Cook was unable to compete with the darts thrown by Hayden and with a 3-1 win, the Cressing player had his final spot booked.

The second semi saw the same high quality darts being thrown by both players, but with a 3-1 win over Wickes, Turner also had his final spot booked.

In the ladies' competition, both semis saw quality darts being thrown.

But after two hard-fought contests, it was Patterson who went through to the final after a 3-1 win over Newman and joining her will be Kennedy following her 3-0 win over Hayden.
