FC CLACTON will kick-off the new Thurlow Nunn League season with a dose of Friday football.

Next term's fixtures have been released and the Seasiders get the ball rolling with a trip to Hadleigh United on Friday, August 3.

Tom Austin's men then head to Whitton United four days later on August 7 before their FA Cup extra preliminary round trip to Kirkley and Pakefield on August 11.

It means Clacton's first game at the Rush Green Bowl is not until August 18, when they play host to much-fancied Stowmarket Town.

Premier division rivals Brantham Athletic open their campaign with a trip to Kirkley on August 4 before welcoming Hadleigh to the Leisure Centre on August 7.

The fixtures for division one south have also been released, with Harwich and Parkeston - now back at step six level - given a home match on the opening day, against White Ensign.

Halstead Town will entertain May and Baker, Little Oakley play Hashtag United and Wivenhoe Town host Wormley Rovers.

There is also an eye-catching match between Holland FC and Braintree Town Reserves.

Harwich and Holland meet in a Tendring derby at the Royal Oak on Tuesday, August 7.

Only the fixtures for the opening month of the season have been released at this stage.

Meanwhile, the draw for the first two rounds of the League Challenge Cup have been made and Clacton and Brantham will meet in the second round - having been given a bye in the first - at the Rush Green Bowl on Tuesday, October 23.
