HAVING completed his 750th marathon on the second of the ten days, Halstead Road Runners' Andy Wilmot battled bravely through injury to complete the Barrow Ten in Ten Challenge.
The 74-year-old long-distance star completed the gruelling test of ten marathons in as many days despite suffering from hamstring problems, with his quickest time coming on day three when he ran a time of four hours 48 mninutes.
RESULTS: Barrow Challenge: Day 1 - 5h 7m; Day 2 - 5h 18m; Day 3 - 4h 48m; Day 4 - 5h 10m: Day 5 - 5h 32m; Day 6 - 5h 3m; Day 7 - 4h 58m; Day 8 - 5h 37m; Day 9 - 5h 50m; Day 10 - 5h 46m.
Elsewhere, Halstead's Caroliena Cameron completed the popular Great Bentley Friday Five in 37.44, placing third in the FV45 age category.
Rob Frost tackled the inaugural Man versus Coast race, which was 25 miles along the Cornish coast and included some short sea swims and a few obstacles.
Frost completed the 25 mile course in 5:40.
The 20th anniversary Felsted 10K took place in extremely humid conditions.
Tom Porter was first back for the Road Runners in 41.55.
The club also supported the event by manning an additional water station to help runners cope with the temperatures.
