COLCHESTER darts ace Colin Lloyd has missed out on securing a PDC Tour Card following qualifying school, in Wigan.
The former world number one battled it out with around 600 other players over four days of competition but was unable to achieve his target of returning to the Pro Tour.
Lloyd was narrowly beaten 5-4 by Dafydd Edwards on the final day in the last 512, a result that ultimately ended his qualifying school involvement.
On the Saturday, Lloyd lost out 5-3 to Development Tour player George Killington, a Development Tour player who went onto to secure his card.
Lloyd made it through the preliminary round last Friday but lost 5-2 against Phillip Borthwick.
And on the opening day, the former World Matchplay winner beat Douglas Thomas 5-3 in the first round but lost 5-3 to Jon Jukes and failed to reach the last 128.
