CRESSING A wrapped up the overall title in the Braintree Open Darts League with victory at Notley Sports.

Notley Sports opened with a 2-1 win in the pairs, before Cressing took the triples and although the hosts had Rob Caton winning his singles, Tony Bamsey won his for the visitors and they claimed the final five games for overall success.

Wethersfield Club travelled to the Eagle B and had the early advantage with a 2-1 win in the pairs , but the hosts fought back to secure the triples and had Billy Night-Wood winning the first singles to square the match.

The next four games saw honours shared, but Steve Carlisle beat Emma Totmam in the decider as the Eagle had the singles and match won.

The Welsh Princess had a bad night on their visit to the Swiss Bell, losing the pairs 3-0, the triples and all seven singles.

Cressing B lost the pairs against 2-1 against visiting Bocking Club, but drew the triples and wins for Paul Fletcher and Harry Smith moved the hosts in front.

Sam Hayden levelled the match, before Rob Turner and Tracey Hemming gave Cressing the singles points, but with Bocking winning the final two games, the overall match ended in a draw.

Braintree Football Club were on back foot after losing the pairs 2-1 and the triples to visitors Eagle A.

Singles wins for Mark Tilly, Phil Holmes and Hayden Acott wrapped up match points for the Eagle, but Kelvin Byrne, Chris Cook and Dan Taylor won to take it to a decider, that was won by Lynn Kelly to give the singles points to the hosts.

Hayden Acott hit two 180s, while Tony Bamsey, Bryan Willis, Dave Joyce, Tony Holland and Martin Compton all hit one each and hit out shots were recorded by Russ Farmer (120), Barry Old (113), Jack Whitmore (104), Harry Smith (100) and Tracey Hemming (87).
