THE second stop of the HSBC National BMX Series was at Birmingham Bike Park and Braintree Bullets BMX Club were back in action to capitalise on their third place in the national club points standings.

The first class win for the Bullets came from Oli Cutmore, who won both days in the prestigious 17 to 29 cruiser class with club-mate Shane Redgewell nibbling on his back wheel in second on both days.

Dan Gilbert competed in the final on day two, finishing seventh.

Redgewell also made his way to the 17-24 class A final on the second day of racing where he chased down club-mate Josh Butson as they finished third and fourth respectively.

Seb Pantlin followed Cutmore’s lead on his way to a fine pair of class wins in the 14-year-olds.

Pantlin was riding up an age group for stronger competition and dominated the older riders with just one second-place finish in his heats across both days of racing.

In the nine to ten girls, Freia Challis increased her points lead following two podium finishes.

Challis battled hard to keep control of the class and had to settle for second on day one, but she came out all guns blazing on day two and took the win in great style.

Just missing out on the class win was Cameron Parrish in the nine to 12 cruiser class.

Parrish looked good on the big wheels and took second place on both days with Joseph Harris third.

Also making podiums in the cruiser classes was Hayden Challis in the 15 to 16s as he secured third both days, ahead of Matt Goodwins.

Adam Gilbert rode to a solid second place in the 12s, which was matched by Kelsey Dixon in the over-17 ladies'.

Dixon had some awesome starts and progressed from a seventh place on day one to take second on day two.

The final podium maker for the club came in the shape of Ollie Rowe in the 16s.

After a mixed bag of results from day one he went to work on the class to ride a solid lap in the final and claimed a deserved third.

Five other Bullets also made the finals, with Charlie Long racing into the top six both days in the six and unders, while Lana Redgewell and Isabel Potter making the top eight in the 17-29 ladies' cruisers.

Molly Nice took seventh in the 13 to 14 girls and Dave Pattle rode in the finals of the newly-formed over-50s.
