THERE was a mix of experience and novices as 13 Witham Running Club Members took part in the London Marathon.

In near perfect conditions, Heydon Mizon was the first man home for Witham with a time of two hours 59 minutes 49 seconds to scrape under three hours in his first road marathon.

Vicky Hunt was next through the finish line and first lady for Witham.

Running as an Good-for-Age qualifier, she flew home in 3:16:04 to take 15 minutes off her personal best (PB) and set a new club marathon record.

The event consisted of a 4km run, a 20km bike course and a 4km run and, as with the Marathon, conditions were just right with the exception of Liz being held up at a red light.
