WITHAM Town manager Adam Flint insists his team will hold no fear as they begin a run of games against sides towards the top end of the Ryman League division north table.

A home game against third-placed Cheshunt is first up for Witham tomorrow at the Village Glass Stadium (kick-off 3pm), ahead of a trip to high-flying Aveley on December 3 and a home game against top-nine side Phoenix Sports.

As well as the testing league sequence, Witham also have an Essex Senior Cup fourth round tie coming up on Tuesday when they will face League Two side Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium (kick-off 7.45pm).

Witham head into the run on the back of a disappointing 3-1 defeat at struggling Heybridge Swifts last weekend and a more encouraging 2-0 win at Dereham Town in midweek that came thanks to goals from Tom Robinson and Tim Monsheju.

The win at Dereham took Witham into the top ten in division north, but they know that the next two weeks could be testing for them.

However Flint knows that his team have performed well against sides at the top end of the league this year and feels they shouldn’t fear what lies ahead.

He said: “Anyone can beat anyone in this division and funnily enough, we seem to be better against sides at the top end of the table. None of the top teams hold any fear for us.

“We beat Aveley in the FA Cup and drew with them in the league, we went to Bury and beat them convincingly, we were unlucky to not get anything from the game at (leaders) Maldon and we beat Bowers and Pitsea 5-2, which no-one else has done.

“We don’t fear anyone, which is good, but we just have to keep learning the lessons.”

Nathan Koranteng will be out for the game against Cheshunt as he completes a suspension, while Michael Osei is also banned.

Full-back Damien Green may struggle to be fit for the weekend as he has an ongoing Achilles problem and goalkeeper Lewis Snelgrove is out with a fractured rib.

Flint said he expected Braintree Town Academy player Sam Souter to continue in goal with Snelgrove out.

However, the Witham boss said he hoped Max Bradford would be available after recovering from a knee injury that has kept him out recently.
