HALSTEAD Courtauld Bowls Club had a good start to their carpet bowls season as they played host to Black Notley Village for a friendly game.
The format was four teams of four, playing five ends with two games each.
Courtauld started the season well, winning 60-26 overall.
The performance of the night, came from Ron Guthrie's team, who won 17-0 in their second game, followed by Terry Bocking's team, who took the first game 13-3 and 6-2 in their second game.
Terry Barnes' team had close games, winning 6-4 and 7-5, while Bob Brace's team had a harder game, drawing 3-3 and then winning 5-2.
