THE Braintree and Bocking Angling Society Teams of Four match saw the Billy Walkers Boys come out on top as they dropped just two points and had three section wins.
The match was fished on the Fennes Ash Grounds and Hobbs Croft lakes in better conditions than was forecast and that must have helped to achieve a good result, with most of the weights in double figures of silver fish.
Bob Davies, of the Bills Boys team had 21-13-0 for the day's top weight and a win in section A.
Fixture clashes are a constant problem and the result of that was that only four teams took part.
Certainly that did not affect the competition between teams, especially the two from Bills Tackle.
RESULTS: Teams: 1 Billy Walkers Boys 14, 2 Bills Tackle Elite 11, 3 Bills Tackle A1 Gold 10, 4 Liberal Club 5. Sections: A Bob Davies (Bills Boys) 21-13-0 the days top weight, B Peter Lamb (Bills Boys) 17-2-0, 3 Julien Collop (Bills Tackle Elite) 21-4-0, 4 (Hobbs) Dave Lewis (Bills Boys) 17-11-0.
The Friday Notley Sweep result was settled 15 minutes from time when Pete Thompson landed the only carp caught on the match, which gave him a 4-8-0 winning total.
John Daniels had two F1s and a goldfish for the bulk of his 3-12-0 in second place.
