WITHAM Rugby Club have got something to be very proud of as senior first team player Jack Cowie has been selected to play for the England Deaf team.

Cowie, who joined Witham a year and half ago, will play in his first senior role for England Deaf in October against England Police at Mosley RFC.

Witham Rugby Club president Nick Redfern said: "Jack's selection for England is a great achievement both for himself and the club.

"Coming soon after we attended the National Rugby Awards finals night at Twickenham at the beginning of the month it again highlights the progress the club has made on and off the field over the past 12 months.

"Jack has bought his own personal style to the club and as a player, he is very focused forward thinking player.

"For Jack, it is a dream come true for him to pull on an England Shirt and play for his country and as a club we would like wish him all the very best and we will support him all the way."
