CRESSING Social Club secure a comprehensive home victory against Braintree Football Club in the Braintree Open Darts League.

A 2-1 win in the pairs and a win in the triples was followed by triumphs in all seven singles matches.

Legends opened their account against the Retreat with a 3-0 victory in the pairs however the Retreat came back with a win in the triples and followed that up by winning the opening six singles to secure the match and singles points.

The Wagon and Horses saw visitors Eagle B open up a match lead with wins in the pairs and triples, but after the opening two singles were shared, wins for Ian Smith and Mark Hammond saw the hosts back in the hunt for the overall match.

Alex Chandler took the fifth game for the visitors before Paul Baker wrapped up singles points for the Wagon and Horses by taking the sixth, but the Eagle's Allan Abbott claimed the final game to take the overall match point for his team.

The Eagle's A team hosted Wethersfield Club and with a 3-0 win in the pairs and a draw in the triples they had the match advantage going into the singles.

Wethersfield fought back with wins for Barry Jeggo, Steve Sheldrake and Kevin Williams-Taylor, but with Paul Little, Barry Old, Stuart Wicks and Steve Carlisle winning, the Eagle had the singles and match won.

Wethersfield Raiders' home match against Bocking Club saw them win the pairs and the triples and although the visitors came back with wins for Phil Watkins and Dave Joyce in the first two singles, the Raiders took the final five games.

Swiss Bell opened up a 3-2 match lead in their encounter with Notley Sports with a 2-1 win in the pairs and a draw in the triples before Notleys Dave Islip levelled the match with a 2-1 win in the first singles.

Ann Farmer won the next for the Swiss to take the match lead before Notley's Stewart Thorogood levelled the match score, but the Swiss won all the remaining games for singles and overall success.

Bryan Willis hit a 180 and Steve O'Neil hit a 115 out shot.
