FIVE Lakes Golf Club welcomed a large number of visiting golfers as well as some of their own members to the annual Eddie Curtis Memorial Open.
Golfers from Kent, Norfolk, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Essex all tried to win the Eddie Curtis Trophy.
The morning 18 holes saw Dave Chignell and Clive Taylor take second place, with Mick Gill and David Rogers taking the honours, with both pairs scoring 41 points.
The afternoon 18 holes saw some higher scoring, with three groups returning 42 points.
Club captain Nigel Popper and Luke Greatorex, J Coombes and D Coombes just missed out, while second place went to Trevor Harris and his guest, Julian Hazel.
First place in the afternoon went to visitors P Mullinger and A Haines, with 45 points.
Overall, the Five Lakes pairing of Frank Taylor and Neil Shinwell took third place with a combined 80 points, losing out to Sam Sadler and his guest, Jamie Jones, on the same score but with a better score in the afternoon.
However, the winners of the Eddie Curtis Trophy were Five Lakes' own Charie Powell and his guest, Ollie Kendall, with 83 points.
There were two longest drives, from Tudor (Danny) Owen and Sadler.
Nearest the pin was won by Graham Sinfield.
