COLCHESTER teenager Louie Westover has booked his place at the World Championships in Le Mans.

The 13-year-old sealed his spot at the world-famous venue in France, after impressing in the European Open in Lincolnshire.

Westover, who has been karting for three years, races in the Junior class and finished sixth at the event in Grantham, which sealed his place at the Le Mans event in October.

The Colchester High School Year Nine pupil drives with Fusion, one of the UK's most successful karting teams.

Along with his mechanic Dan Hoy, they have been fundamental in him progressing so well this year.

Westover has been racing in karts since he was ten years old, having started out in cadets.

He moved up to the Junior Class of X30 last October and since then, has progressed to a very high level of racing competing with the world's best youngsters aged between 13 and 16.

He is also doing well in the LGM series, which runs throughout the year.

Louie's family travel all around the country and Europe to support him with his racing exploits.
