IT was a triumphant week for all three of Halstead Bowls Club’s Men’s North West Essex League sides.

The A team continued their push up the table with an 8-0 win away to Braintree C.

Pat Ashcroft, Brian Chadwick and Clive Cracknell achieved a 23-15 win.

There was also an inspiring 23-7 victory for Tony Garrett, Adrian Smart and Russell Harmour, which, with the help of Colin Tuxworth, John Collyer and John Ovel’s 19-11 score, secured a final tally of 65 shots to 33.

The B team secured their first win of the season after beating Castle Hedingham A, by 49 shots to 44.

Despite being behind after the first seven ends, Terry Bocking, Tony Jones and Gerald Cook managed to change the pace of the game to win with a final score of 22-16.

A three-shot defeat for Mike Bristow, Ron Guthrie and Roy Clemence, 16-13, was offset by Eric Marson, Ray Joslin and Geoff Hughes’s 14-12 win.

The C team got back on track with an 8-0 win over Silver End C.

Tony Hill, Roy Sycamore and Bob Brace’s dominant performance earned a 32-12 win.

Stan Jones, Bernard Rust and Ernie Simmonds secured a 27-13 win, with David Cole, Jim Griffiths and Terry Reynolds winning 15-10.

This rousing performance saw the team climb up into second spot in the league.
