Imogen Newby raised the bar yet again at the Bedford County Archery Association and Southern Counties Archery Association Metric and Double Metric Championships.
The 11-year-old from Halstead has had some stunning success in the last month, including two silver medals at the National Championships, and added to her recent achievements in the Double WA1440 Metric V at Bedford.
Newby had the national Ladies’ Under-12 Double Metric V record of 2,573 points in her sights at the start.
She ended the opening day with 1,335, which was just short of her own PB, before a great performance in the windier conditions of Sunday saw her score an impressive 1,366 to take the gold medal.
That set a new Braintree Bowmen club, county and personal best and also gave her a new national record claim as well.
