Three Braintree and Bocking Swimming Club members took part in the East Region Championships with Ole Mills taking pride of place with a five-medal haul that helped place Braintree as the top Essex club.

Mills took gold in the 400 metre individual medley and 200m breaststroke, silver in the 400m freestyle and 200m individual medley and bronze in the 100m breaststroke.

He also made the finals of the 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 50m breaststroke, with all his swims achieved in personal best times.

His podium positions saw Braintree and Bocking ninth in the overall medal table and top-placed Essex club.

Dylan Nutt seems to improve with every swim and he also swam personal bests in the 50m butterfly and 50m breaststroke.

At 41 years old, Braintree’s Lee Peterson was the oldest swimmer competing but with his years of experience saw him produce another excellent breaststroke swim.
